PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Epol Gold Cup is an energy dense ration providing both high quality cereal grains and additional fat sources to ensure delivery of adequate energy needed to meet the high demands of horse racing.  This combination will also assist with maintenance of condition when workloads are high.

Quality protein sources support muscle development and aid in recovery and repair of the performance horse.

The Gold Cup is fully fortified with the Vitamins and minerals needed to assist with recovery and performance of the equine athlete. Digestive support is also added for superior gut health.

The Gold Cup is extremely palatable ensuring that horses eat up well at home and away.

FEEDING GUIDELINES

Feeding horses correctly requires a good eye and careful monitoring of your horse’s individual needs, condition and behaviour. We therefore suggest you contact us directly for personalised feeding advice.

The Gold Cup is designed to be fed alongside good quality hay and/ or pasture fed which should be fed at an absolute minimum of 1% of body weight per day (5kg for a 500kg horse). Providing the correct level of quality roughage will help to maintain gut health of the performance horse.

Always ensure the minimum roughage requirement is met and then adjust the amount of Gold Cup depending on need. It is recommended that 6-9kg be fed per day. Due to the higher starch levels provided in this product we strongly recommend meal sizes are kept to no more than 2.5kg per meal. This will reduce the risk of starch overflow into the hindgut which can increase the risk of conditions such as hindgut acidosis.

It is very important to ensure that the horse is fed the correct portion of food by weight, not by volume! All feeds have different densities and thus do not weigh the same. Therefore, it is very important to establish exactly what weight (kg) your scoop holds of the specific product you are feeding.

Always introduce any new feed or product over a period of 7-14days and ensure fresh water is always available .
